Race-blind charging

This report shows the review numbers for Race-blind Charging Cases. The first two sections show the Cases reviewed during the selected date range. They show the split between Cases existing before the period and those received during. The third section shows the unreviewed Cases.

Fields

Race-blind Charging report parameters

Use the Reviewed From and Reviewed To fields to filter Race-blind Charging review dates included in the report. Use the Case Type field to show Cases with that type. Use the Reviewer field to show Cases reviewed by the selected individuals. In the Show Details field, select True to include links for Case records in the report.

Reviewed From

Defaults to the first day of the previous month.

Reviewed To

Defaults to the last day of the previous month.

Case Type

Defaults to all Race-blind Charging Case types.

Reviewer

Defaults to all users who have performed a Race-blind Charging review.

Show Details

Defaults to False.

Existing Cases reviewed

The first report section shows Cases received before the date range and reviewed during the date range.

Exempt

Exempt Cases do not qualify for Race-blind Charging. A Case can be exempt for the following reasons:

Auto exempt

The count of Statutes with RBC Exempt set.

To set a Statute as Race-blind Charging exempt:

  1. Navigate to Left Navigation  System Administration  Statutes.

  2. Click a Statute link.

  3. Select RBC Exempt.

  4. Click Save.

In the Show Details field, select True to show the list of Statutes with RBC Exempt selected.

Manual exempt

The count of Cases exempt from Race-blind Charging from manual decisions. The count includes Cases where the initial Race-blind Charging decision is Unable to use Race-blind Charging.

In the Show Details field, select True to show a list of Cases, the exclusion reason, and the defendant ethnicity.

Initial review

Initial review Cases are those which have completed the initial Race-blind Charging review process but not the final review. During an initial review, the reviewer can choose to proceed to file or decline to file. This report section separates the Cases based on the initial review choice.

In the Show Details field, select True to show a list of Cases and their initial review dates.

Final review

Final review Cases are those which have completed a final Race-blind Charging review. During a final review, the reviewer can choose to keep or change the initial review decision. This section separates the Cases based on the final review choice.

In the Show Details field, select True to show a list of Cases and their final review dates. Also, for changed decisions, the details include the explanation for the change and the ethnicity of the defendant.

Received Cases

The second section shows Cases received and reviewed during the date range.

The count of Case Types that do not participate in Race-blind Charging.

To turn on Race-blind Charging for a Case type:

  1. Navigate to Left Navigation  System Administration  Race Blind Charging.

  2. Click Configure Race-Blind Charging Settings.

  3. Click Edit Race-Blind Charging Case Types.

  4. Select the value for each Case type.

  5. Click Save.

In the Show Details field, select True to show a list of Cases and their Case types.

Initial review

The count of Cases received before the Reviewed From date awaiting review.

Cases received between

The count of Cases received during the selected date range awaiting review.

To show these details, select True in the Show Details field.
